The State Library is working with representatives from libraries in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lebanon, Lancaster, Perry and York Counties to promote reading for adults in the community. The Help by Kathryn Stockett has been announced as this year’s selection. Reading campaign organizers encourage residents of the six-county region to read the book during September and October and to attend free programs and discussions to learn more about this captivating novel. As part of the fall campaign, the State Library will offer a Brown Bag lunch discussion on October 19, 2011 from noon to 1pm. Interested people should check out a copy of The Help at their local library in the six-county area. Books will also be available for purchase at local Giant Food Stores, Weis Markets, and Wegmans stores as well as Barnes & Noble Booksellers and at local booksellers.
