PBL and The Real World Navy Challenge: Enriching Student Learning in the Science, Technology, and Math Classrooms (Part 2)
About this presenter - Debbie Lugar
Organization: Chester County Intermediate Unit
This is the second webinar in a 3-part series. Having learned about the beneficial role Problem-based Learning can have on student learning, participants will have the opportunity to enter the virtual world as avatars and become familiar with the Scarboro South nuclear power plant. They will also experience the embedded student activities built within the scenario. This fully guided tour provides participants with an opportunity to experience and become adept at navigating the virtual learning environment and its interactive features. Scarboro South was built to support the 2010/11 Real World Navy Challenge’s problem-based learning scenario which involved a catastrophic event at a boiling water nuclear power plant.
Prerequisite: Part 1 (Introduction) of this series.
