Presenter Proposal Form

Do you enjoy presenting at state and national conferences? Would you like to present from the comfort of your office, classroom, or home? If so, then read on.

You are invited to submit a proposal to conduct a webinar presentation for the 2008/09 Pennsylvania Department of Education Webinar Series. Individuals representing all academic disciplines and all phases of technology and education are welcome to submit proposals for sixty or ninety minute live presentations.

Scope:

PDE webinars will focus on the needs of administrators, technology directors, teachers, librarians and students.

The administrator series addresses development and the role of technology in schools improvement and includes:

  • Best Practices
  • New Initiatives
  • Policy Issues

The technology series focuses on resources and best practices to support effective teaching and learning environments and includes:

  • Best Practices
  • New and Emerging Technologies
  • Policy Issues

The teacher, librarians and student series focuses on classroom instructional resources and includes:

  • Authors and Illustrators
  • Careers in Technology
  • Instructional Best Practices, specifically in science, math, and social studies.

Selection Process:

Each application will be reviewed by the CCIU webinar team and evaluated on the following:

  • Educational significance and contribution to the respective theme and strand
  • Relevancy of topic to PDE Initiatives
  • Degree to which applications of technology are addressed
  • Ease of replication
  • Value to participants
  • Presenter knowledge and experience

All finalists must be approved by the PDE Bureau of Educational Technology.

Presenter Requirements:

  • Each presenter must have a computer with high speed Internet access, microphone, speakers and web cam. Elluminate web conferencing software will be used.
  • All selected presenters must attend a mandatory one hour rehearsal in Elluminate prior to the presentation.
  • All sessions will be recorded and made available at no charge through the www.pdewebinars.org website.
  • Final placement of all webinars into the program schedule is at the discretion of the CCIU webinar team.

Proposal Process:

  • All proposals must be completed online at www.pdewebinars.org.
  • All selected presenters will be notified no later than 2 weeks after proposal submission.
  • All webinars will be scheduled for a 10am or 2pm time slot.
